Nguyễn Anh Tuấn was born in 1977 in Thanh Hoa. He graduated the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Art in 2001 and is currently based on Ho Chi Minh City as an independent artist. Most of Tuấn's artworks are either oil paintings or paintings Dó paper. He also exlores other art forms such as installation, performance, and videoart.
His manifesto of art: “I paint to record my own concepts which I keep digging deeper into through painting and researching. When I paint, I am immersed in my own world where each breath paints a line. I feel that my body and soul are separated and that all minimum needs as well as joy, sadness, honor, humiliation or the surrounding world all disappear... I hope that one day the tranquillity in my artworks will free me from the chaos of life.”
