Kim Ut's idea of ​​​​painting with chili sauce came from a time when he accidentally spilled chili sauce on paper and found the colors very eye-catching. Kim Ut began to explore and experiment with this new material. As for the coffee material, Kim Ut learned through internet research and saw foreign artists painting with coffee water, so he researched and experimented.

Kim Ut was once awarded by the Vietnam Record Organization to set a record of "The person who painted with the most unique and strange materials" with chili sauce and coffee in 2018.
