Nguyen Manh Hung, born in 1958 in Hanoi, graduated from the University of Industrial Fine Arts in 1980, is a painter mainly based on lacquer and oil paintings. Nguyen Manh Hung's paintings are not sophisticated, both in terms of themes and expressions. He chose to pursue the theme of landscape and human activities, and has set foot across the country to record the most authentic, most natural scenes of landscape as well as the life of the Vietnamese people. Throughout his career, Nguyen Manh Hung has been featured in numerous group shows and solo exhibitions. In 2011, he was honored to be the only Vietnamese artist to won the Honor prize at the 18th International Fine Art Exhibition in Korea with his artworks Fish and Lotus. In 2015, his work Mountain Market Fair also won the Honor prize of the Hanoi Fine Arts Association.
