Doan Xuan Tang, born in 1977 in Nam Dinh, graduated from Hanoi University of Fine Arts (now renamed Vietnam Fine Arts University) in 2001. Since his debut solo exhibition in 2009 , Doan Xuan Tang dedicated to the subject of culture and scenery of Vietnam's northern mountain part. With the eyes of an ethnographer studying the remote Northwest region, Doan Xuan Tang's paintings are part documentation and part expression, lead the viewer to a mountainous world which is both very lyrical, poetic as well as vibrant and brilliant. His works have featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Dubai and the United States and appeared in numerous collections of individuals and organizations in- and outside of Vietnam.
